About A Penny Filled Pantry

brittney bowen coupon consultantBrittney’s Bio – I started couponing 3 years ago just trying to save my young family a little bit of money! I was really skeptical about “couponing” because I didn’t see how it could really save that much money for my family. I started using a few coupons here and there and soon saw how quickly I could turn my grocery budget around. We were saving LOTS of money! I pretty much taught myself everything I know about the “coupon world.” I’ve always wanted to own my own business and what better business than teaching other people how to save money!! Before coupons, I attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and now live in North Carolina with my hubby and 2 kiddos!

Once I got my first free item, I was addicted (but that’s ok, because admitting I have a problem is the first step in recovery, right? ;) ) It was like a game to try and get more and more items for free or even get paid by the store to take the item home! Now that I’ve had a baby, I see how important coupons are, especially on all the diapers we go through!

brittney and bethanyOur bio – We began couponing in the same month in the same year without even knowing it! Brittney lived in the mountains and we didn’t even shop at the same stores, but once Brittney moved back to the Greensboro area, we began sharing deals and finds each week. We became better and better at couponing and started getting questions by our friends and even by strangers in the grocery stores. Cashiers even asked our secret to saving money when they saw $100 grocery bills go down to 15 cents. We finally decided to start teaching what we knew about couponing through coupon classes. After our first few classes, it caught on like wildfire and people in our community couldn’t get enough. We wanted to help them continue to save money so we started apennyfilledpantry.blogspot.com which is now this website! We have grown our website tremendously since January of 2010 and hope to continue to add new features and help our community and the nation get their grocery budgets under control!
